Veteran Nigerian actor, Pete Edochie, has paid a tribute to the late Former President of the Republic of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings.
Mr Rawlings died on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital where he was receiving treatment.
Reacting to the news of the death of Ghana’s former president, Pete Edochie described him his “dear friend.”
Mr Edochie shared a photo of himself exchanging pleasantries with Mr Rawlings.
“Rest in Peace and Power, my dear friend Jerry Rawlings. Your legacy is forever part of African history,” Pete Edochie wrote.
Seven days of National mourning for the late former president
Following the death of Jerry John Rawlings, President Akufo-Addo declared seven days of national mourning from Friday, November 13 to Friday, November 20.
He also directed that all national flags should fly at half-mast for the next seven days in all parts of the country.
