People of the central region are not happy with the regional minister’s decision to use the Dormitories of secondary schools as isolation centers for suspected coronavirus cases.

After some cases were recorded, contact tracing was initiaited to get all those who came into contact with the infected people for testing but the lack of space for the numerous contacts and suspected cases moved the regional minister in the persons of Mr. Kwame Duncan to come up with the decision to use the facilities of St Augustine College and the Efutu Senior High Technical School as isolation centers.

This decision have been strongly opposed by some residents of the area and the teachers have petitioned the regional coordinating council describing the regional minister’s action as misplaced and problematic.

Some residents stormed the entrance of the schools chanting war songs to send their disapproval to the government.
